Hijacking the MissGayAmerica.com Domain - 2006/02/16 15:28
The popular drag gossip site, CarrieFairfield.com is no stranger to scandal.
In 2003, CarrieFairfield.com gained huge popularity when the flagship website for MissGayAmerica.com was hijacked, and re-directed to CarrieFairfield.com. Visitors looking for the Miss Gay America website were forwarded to CarrieFairfield.com.
The domain, MissGayAmerica.com was returned to it's rightful owners after a lengthy legal case, but not before CF.com gained a great deal of exposure and popularity from the MissGayAmerica.com name.
Prior to Miss Gay America's sale, the resulting Court Findings were posted at MissGayAmerica.com indicating that CF.com had in fact infringed on the MGA trademark.
